In the beginning..........
I was born in Melrose, Massachusetts, a small town to the north of Boston. We then moved to Newport, Rhode Island. That is where I grew up and attended elementary, middle, and part of high school school. When I was 16 I moved to Norcross, Georgia, a suburb to the northeast of Atlanta. I finished high school at Norcross High School and graduated in 1995. Within this time frame my family and I spent a year in Seattle, Washington, and a year in Syracuse, NY.
Schooling..........
I began my undergraduate work at University of West Georgia formally known as West Georgia College. I went to school there for two years, but after my second year I found myself on the road back to RI. I continued to work on my degree attending the University of Rhode Island. I spent one year there and found myself on the road again, this time to Williamsport, PA. I enrolled at Lock Haven University and finished my degree B.S. Early Childhood Ed. in 2004. I went back to Lock Haven and earned a masters degree M.E.d in Teaching and Learning in 2013. I hope to begin work on my D.E.d sometime in the future.
Today........
I have lived in PA since 2000. I'm the proudest parent in the world of my two amazing and wonderful children. I'm delighted to say that I will be starting my 10th year teaching Kindergarten at Sugar Valley Rural Charter School. It has been a unique and rewarding experience to teach at this school and in this community for the past nine years.
A Little More about me.......
If you're not bored reading this already then I will tell you a little about what I like to do. My hobbies include sports, hiking, kayaking and canoeing, reading, writing, movies, traveling, music, eating tasty food, and spending time with family and friends. Some of my personal goals are to keep learning how to play the guitar, hike the AT(Appalachian Trial), write a children's book, travel to every state in the US( I have a lot to go), obtain a black belt in martial arts, visit all 58 National Parks, go back to school and obtain my doctorate in education, and teach at a University somewhere in the country.
